There were three bear cubs playing at the zoo. They acted just like the kids act in the hot tub. Jacob-bear was lounging on the side chiding the little ones for splashing, Ria-bear was play/attacking Alex-bear and splashing as much as she possible could.

APPARENTLY this is what chineese people look like... and that is a bib on Maria's head. I like them.

I'm aware this is upside down, stand on your head. We're making your life more interesting.

Laura and I took the kids to the zoo, it was so fun!! We had peacocks and ducks walking right up to us and even eating out of our hands! My favorite part was the monkeys! Did you know there is an animal called a tree kangaroo? It's like a kangaroo/monkey looking thing that was sleeping in a tree when we saw it! It was a bit chilly but we had a blast.

I just love eskimo kisses!!!! I taught Ria how to do them and also butterfly kisses ( eyelashes) we also made up flower kisses and mama kisses and a whole bunch of other ones it was really cute :)

SpRiNg

Spring is here! I love being able to go outside and play! We don't even have to wear boots anymore! The weather here has been so nice, spring was on time :) That's the first time that has ever happened to me :)

oh my GOSH! i just caught a WILD frog... i mean its from the wild, its not actually wild and crazy... it kinda just sat there like ... well crap there's a 32 oz subway cup on top of me with a 100 something pound girl screetching like im gross or something... life sucks. I named him Eyore ;) He was lollygagging across my driveway when i pulled up tonight haha he's almost as bis as the 32 oz lid! Mom i know you win with the size of your frog but still! i've never seen a live frog bigger than my thumb before... AND I JUST CAUGHT ONE!!! Dan thinks i should have caught it with my hands, HA WHATEVER!!!!! EIKCKCKC!!! YUCK! But SO cool :)

sooo... if you're a MAN, and you're man enough to ask a girl on a date.. You should at least have the resources to actually TAKE her on said date! This guy ( he's a very nice guy) asked me out but it turned out that he was an hour away with no car... haha i found this out at about 6 o'clock when we were supposed to hang out at 7 o'clock. uh ya do you see the problem??? i am NOT your mother/cheauffer (i know that's not spelled right) im your DATE! your GIRL date, i dont do the whole drive an hour- pick you up- take you out- drive myself home thing. I am totally into the whole MEET ME HALFWAY thing. i feel kinda powerful since i told him i couldn't drive out that far, i didn't even make up an excuse! which by the way im super pro at doing but it always makes me feel guilty... DEAR PEOPLE: TODAY I FEEL NO REMORSE! bahaha i like this :)
Oh, by the way I made a deal with myself that i wouldn't steady date and guy for an entire year (starting Jan. 26) so if i start dating... ummmmmm send me some sort of digital slap in the face please!!!!! No kissing either haha NONE! zero, nada, NONE! this year is all mine :) not some stupid guys haha im not sharin.

I really REALLY wish it would quit pretending that spring was coming ... one day i can see lawns .. the next, there is like two or more inches of snoww... this is nothing compared to what we keep getting. :(

Dear Mom,

I know im not quite up to mom status as of right now, but being a nanny is making me realize JUST how hard the mom job is! I've really started to appreciate how much my mom did for me.

flashback on my childhood: mom is driving and she's got four kids in the back saying MOM! MOM! are you listening? mom im hungry mom can i have a snack? mom can we go to mcdonalds?? mom! mom? mom... mom can i have this?? what does this do? hey mom look ... LOOK MOM! MOMMMM! mom look. mom. mom. mom. mom. mom look. mom.

or how bout after school and the kids burst through the door.. mom can i have a snack? will you get me milk? can i have a cookie? did you make new cookies? mom there's no cookies ... i want cookies. no i dont WANT an apple i want cookies! please mom? will you make them??? mom why are you folding clothes? i dont wanna do the dishes mom! can i play with friends? WHY?!!! i HATE homework! i dont want a bath. yes i made my bed.. i am NOT LYING! no dont go check yet one second. but MOMMMM!

I could really go on and on with that stuff all day haha and all the COOKING you have to do every day... i spend most of my down time either planning what these little guys are gonna eat for dinner and then preparing it and then trying to get them to focus and EAT it. on a time limit. haha moms are really TRULY amazing people.

last minute mommies

So alex takes a bus every morning to school. The bus takes 45 minutes to get to his school, and he really doesn't like it. The place that the bus goes to pick the kids up is just used as the ONE bus stop for all the kids so it doesnt spend time driving around picking them up at separate places. We like to show up ten to twenty minutes before he is supposed to get on the bus or get picked up from the bus after school just so he never misses the bus and so we never miss him after school. We also like to wait the ten or twenty minutes after he gets on the bus in the morning until the bus leaves and drives passt the van so we can wave and blow lots of kisses! It's kind of funny to watch during those last twenty minutes of waiting because all these cars keep driving up in a rush and you see moms hurrying their kids and shooing them out of the car saying RUN! ( by the way we ALLWAYS walk alex to the bus door and give him hugs) the reason we give him all these special things is not only cuz we love him so much and will miss him all day but also because he would much rather be home playing with us than sit on a school bus for 45 minutes and go to school all day and ride back ... thats so HARD for a 6 yr old :( But anyways as i was saying, i think its funny that right up until right before the bus leaves there are cars racing up and either running their kid up to the bus door and shooing them through the door as quickly as possible with a quick goodbye or just saying come on hurry hurry! of course they love their children but think how much better their whole day could be if EVERY kid could spend time talking to their mommy in the car before they got on the bus and SROLLING up to the bus doors and getting a big hug and pep talk every day and a big hug from their little sis! and then to top it off catch all the kisses and sign i love you out the window. I know most moms are in a hurry to get to work and things but kids notice when you do something special. im not saying every mom needs to spend 40 minutes every morning just to blow kisses to their kids, but i think all moms should take just a little bit of time every day to so a little something special for their kids, they really do notice! even if its just quiet time with each child by themselves. it makes them feel special when they get their own time to spend with just you! At least thats how these kids are. its good for kids to get their own special separate attention. i think it makes them feel important :) haha well... there's some thoughts ... take em an run if you want

AHHH! you write a title for all your posts... i get it

Um... so ... i just looked at leah's blog and ... am i doing my blog wrong?? haha alls i do is put up pictures and comment on them.. maybe i should write a bit too! uh, so where to start haha. I live in connecticut now, yes thats how you spell it. (i think) and im the nanny of three beautiful children and i live with them and their AMAZING parents. its kinda nice being able to jump out of bed and walk up the stairs and already be at work... if you can even call it work haha its more like mom practice/play time haha. i DO have responsibilities tho i mean i dont just sit around and play all day. i pick the kids up or drop them off or take maria to dance or tumble jungle and watch her (LOVE IT) and i make Ria lunch before nap time. during nap time i do laundry or clean and make dinner. And NO i DO NOT make chicken nuggets! the kids mostly eat italian food. YUMMY! most of the stuff i make is made mostly from scratch which is really cool im learning a lot of cooking from laura! (she's the mommy) the nanny before me introduced me to a few people and we all hung out a few times and i went on a date with one acctually haha he's super nice! im going on a date with him on saturday also with his family for his birthday. I've been too chicken to go on the highway since i moved here cuz i dont want to get lost but today a got a GPS!!! and guess what else i got?? the salesman's number bahaha i know right?? score one for christa. I've met two nice guys in less than a month i think thats progress right??

I love my little kids so much! i love their kisses and hugs and their sticky messy faces bahaha! I'm really excited cuz alex is at the point where he's learning to read and write and i really love watching him figure out what the marks on the page say. its hard to discribe the proud feeling i get every time he does it :) my mom found this AWESOME website ( starfall.com) that is so perfect for kids to learn to read. if you have a 3 year old have them start playing around on it cuz even Ria loves learning the letters with the little games!!

Jacob is such a smart little boy! we raced with flash cards today and ... uh ... i lost, badly! it was pretty sad he told his mom that i need practice haha. He LOVES the olympics! I mean really loves them! He can tell you who won what medal and how many other medals they have and what happened in what event and who got hurt before the olympics and on and on and on he knows it ALL! and if you let him, he WILL talk about it all day without running out of things to say. :) jake is almost as tall as me and he's eight years old! all these kids are really tall for their ages, they get it from their mommy :) their daddy is tall too just not QUITE as tall he barely missed the mark haha.

did i forget anything?? hopefully this is the right way to blog...? is there a right way??? haha hmm.

My husband Cowie turned into Alex and my flower girl drove and flew us to Aruba for our honeymoon!

I got married today :) his name is Cowie! My wedding planner and hair dresser and dress chooser was 6 yr old Alex, my flower girl was 3 yr old Maria and my priest was Laura :) sooo fun!

I got her all dressed up and did her hair for her valentines day party at school. She brought sprinkles and made cookies with her class :) so fun!!!

We went to Great Wolf Lodge on vacation, it was so fun! We played in the water and did other fun activities. In our room the kids had a little cabin with three beds in it for them.

Maria thinks I'm so gross cuz I like to kiss her "smelly" toes! But I can't help myself ... they're just too CUTE!

We made doughnuts :) They were SO tasty as you can see by the look on her face!
